Another successful training day was held for Hungarian businesses interested in foreign markets and looking to expand their international presence. This time, participants received an in-depth overview of the economic characteristics of Central Asia, the specifics of the business environment and the opportunities available within key sectors during the full-day training session.
The program was organized by the Export Academy Training Center of HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, whose mission is to provide Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises and all interested parties with practical, immediately applicable knowledge essential for successful international operations.
Central Asia is currently one of the fastest‑growing regions in the world. Its appeal is strengthened by its significant natural resources, rapidly transforming economies and increasing openness to international cooperation. Recent global shifts have further elevated the region’s strategic importance, as it offers alternative energy and logistics routes toward the European Union.
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are considered the region’s dominant economic players. Hungarian companies’ technological readiness, reliability and professional expertise offer them a significant competitive advantage in these countries.

At the event, titled Target Market Training – Central Asia, participants received a practice‑oriented overview of the region’s characteristics and learned about concrete tools for successfully entering the Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Tajik markets.
The training was divided into two blocks. In the morning session, experts presented the region’s geopolitical role, the business culture of the target countries and their economic environment. Participants learned how to build effective partnerships and, with the help of decision‑support tools, assess potential risks associated with entering the market.
In the afternoon, commercial attachés, corporate professionals, and representatives of foreign organizations held interactive presentations. They provided a detailed introduction to the business environment of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, ongoing and planned projects and the practical experience gained during implementation. HEPA’s partner office in Tashkent, opened in September 2025, also presented its activities in Uzbekistan.
Several experts reported on key investment opportunities:
- Zoltán Nyitrai, CEO of UBM Kazakh Investment LLC, showcased the company’s large‑scale feed industry project in Kazakhstan.
- Gergely Pókos, executive director of OTP’s Green Program Directorate, shared insights from a broiler poultry investment project in Uzbekistan.

The full-house event and the exceptionally strong interest once again demonstrated that target market-specific preparation remains a crucial factor for international success.
