The online business forum “LINK the gateway for your business between Hungary and the Philippines” was held May 18-20.

The event was co-organised by the HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, the Hungarian Embassy of Manila, the HIPA Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, the Philippine Board of Investments and the Philippine International Trading Corporation, under the auspices of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry.

The aim of the business forum was to present potentially economically stimulating business opportunities between Hungary and the Philippines and the two countries’ companies.

On May 18 - the first day of the three-day event - the main focus was on possibilities to develop trade relations between the two countries. On behalf of the HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, Dr. Kristóf Szabó CEO, and on behalf of the Philippine International Trading Corporation, President Dave M. Almarinez presented the business development opportunities between Hungary and the Asian island state. During the event a letter of intent was signed between the two organisations, then Hungarian companies interested in the Philippine market presented their current projects.

On the second day of the business forum EXIM Bank together with the HIPA Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency and on the Philippine side the Philippine Board of Investment outlined bilateral investment opportunities.

On May 20, on the closing day of the event, Hungarian companies were able to negotiate directly with potential partners in the Philippines through the online B2B platform provided by HEPA.
