HEPA concluded an exciting and eventful month, as in addition to a busy exhibition season, we had the opportunity to host delegations from three Asian countries. Throughout the multi-day series of events, complemented by networking programs, numerous business meetings took place between Hungarian and foreign companies, significantly contributing to the strengthening of export relations.

The first delegation we welcomed came from Indonesia. On the first day, strategic discussions were held, providing an opportunity for the parties to introduce themselves and explore potential areas of cooperation. On the second day, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Budapest organized a business seminar, followed by B2B meetings. A total of 40 participants attended the events, including 22 Hungarian professionals. The delegation included Rizal Edwin Manasang, Act Secretary General of the National Council for Special Economic Zones (SEZ); Bambang Wijanarko, Deputy of the National Council for SEZ; Agung Putu Ngurah Wirawan, President Director of Batang Industropolis SEZ; Muhammad Putra Utama, Senior Advisor at the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia; Siti Tierfiyani Fahiyah, Head of Indonesia Investment Promotion Center; Suryo Tutuko, Representative of the Batang SEZ; Esthy Putri Muryanti from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Indonesia) and Gunadi Adisasmita, Minister Counsellor.

During the same week, we also hosted a Turkish delegation, whose visit was closely linked to the recently concluded Industry Days exhibition. The event was organized by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TIM), Türkiye’s largest exporters’ organization. As part of the program, a business networking event combined with a B2B forum took place, aiming to expand Hungarian-Turkish economic cooperation. Speakers included Başaran Bayrak, Head of the TIM delegation; Balázs Hendrich, Chairman of the Regional Committee for Turkish States and Central Asia and Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Budapest. On behalf of HEPA, CEO Katalin Bihari welcomed the participants. The event brought together 18 Turkish and nearly 100 Hungarian companies.

The month concluded with a joint India-focused professional event organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and HEPA. The event provided 21 Indian and 39 Hungarian companies with the opportunity to present their organizations and activities, as well as to explore new business cooperation opportunities. Speakers included Katalin Bihari, CEO of HEPA; Shri Anshuman Gaur, Ambassador of India to Hungary; President of FICCI CMSME (Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) and Chairman of Luthra Group; András Rév, Chairman of the India Regional Committee at the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; as well as Levente Kardos, Commercial Attaché and Gábor Szabó, Chief Advisor of HIPA Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency.

The visits of these three delegations made a tangible contribution to strengthening Hungary’s export relations with its Asian partners, while also opening up new opportunities across a range of economic sectors.
