In recent years, the Western Balkan region, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, has emerged as one of the key centres of economic renewal. The region’s development is increasingly shaped by international cooperation, industrial modernization and the growing adoption of innovative solutions. In this process, professional forums play a crucial role by enabling direct connections between local and international economic actors. Among these meeting points, International Economy Fair Mostar stands out, once again drawing significant attention to Hungarian developments.

Held for the 27th time between April 14 and 18, 2026, the event is one of the most important business fora in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Year after year, it serves as an effective bridge between the Western Balkans and European markets, while offering excellent opportunities to establish new business partnerships and to strengthen long-term regional presence.

This year’s fair welcomed several hundred exhibitors, covering nearly all key sectors of the economy. Leading players from manufacturing and construction, agriculture, the food and automotive industries, metal processing, electronics, the technology sector and services were all represented. Among the event’s central themes, innovation, efficiency enhancement and sustainable industrial solutions featured prominently - areas in which Hungarian companies offer internationally competitive solutions.

As in previous years, HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency ensured a unified and prominent presence for Hungarian companies with a national stand. Three companies showcased their expertise, representing strategically important sectors. GLOBOMAX Plc. presented its digital display and visual communication systems; Rimóczi és Társa Kft. appeared with its industrial filtration technologies and filter elements; while Merian Foods Ltd. drew attention with its export-oriented food industry products.

The exhibition offered more than just an opportunity for presentation. Through bilateral B2B meetings organized with the support of Enterprise Europe Network, numerous new business connections were established, in several cases resulting in concrete cooperation agreements.

The importance of the event was underscored by the presence of high-ranking political and economic leaders at the official opening ceremony, including His Excellency Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of Croatia and Her Excellency Borjana Krišto, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Hungarian national stand was also visited by several diplomatic and professional representatives, among them His Excellency Krisztián Pósa, Ambassador of Hungary to Bosnia and Herzegovina; Her Excellency Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Máté Kurin, Hungarian Foreign Trade Attaché in Sarajevo.

Overall, the fair, organized jointly by INTERA Technology Park Mostar, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Enterprise Europe Network, once again achieved significant international success. The event opened new business opportunities for export-ready companies and further strengthened the position of Hungarian companies in the Western Balkans and beyond.
