Building on its successful debut in 2025, Hungary returned to the 41st Space Symposium with an independent national pavilion, held from April 13 to 16 in Colorado Springs. The event is widely recognized as one of the most influential gatherings in the global space industry.

The growing importance of both the symposium and the sector itself was reflected in the scale of participation: more than 12,000 professionals attended, representing government agencies, major industry players and international startups, while around 250 exhibitors presented cutting-edge technologies ranging from satellite systems to lunar rovers.

A defining feature of the 2026 edition was a clear shift away from the more speculative tone of previous years toward a strong focus on current challenges and deployable, real-world solutions.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cross-sector collaboration, especially the direct integration of private-sector innovations into defense systems. At the same time, with the International Space Station set to be decommissioned by 2030, discussions increasingly turned to the future of commercial low Earth orbit space stations.

Hungary’s participation was coordinated by HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, with support from the Embassy of Hungary in Washington and our Consulate in Houston. Special recognition is due to foreign economic attachés Melinda Szilágyi and Sándor Földi for their key role in organizing the delegation and supporting its activities.

This year’s delegation expanded on the five returning exhibitors with the addition of a new participant, collectively representing a broad cross-section of Hungary’s space and defense technology sector. 4iG Space and Defence Technologies Plc. develops complex satellite systems, drone technologies and defense digitalization solutions; BHE Bonn Hungary Electronics Ltd. manufactures world-class microwave equipment and space communication transceivers; eCon Engineering Ltd. provides high-end engineering simulations, including optimization of Axiom Space ISS modules; PCB Design Ltd. designs radiation-tolerant printed circuit boards and hardware data storage units; Puli Space Technologies Ltd. works on lunar technologies, including the NASA award-winning “Water Snooper” detector and lunar rover developments; while the newly participating Aedus Space Ltd. focuses on space systems engineering, laser applications and advanced materials science.

The Hungarian presence was received with open arms, with participants highlighting that the unified national showcase at one of the industry’s most prominent global events creates significant professional and business opportunities.

During the symposium, the delegation engaged in numerous high-level discussions with leading international industry players, including Voyager Technologies, Vaya Space, L3Harris Technologies, and Axiom Space. These engagements underline Hungary’s ability to participate in meaningful dialogue with top-tier global stakeholders, reinforcing the quality and competitiveness of its space industry capabilities.
