Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó opened the Hungarian-Kyrgyz business forum

HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, together with the Kyrgyz Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (IPPA) organised a Hungarian-Kyrgyz business forum on the 29th September 2020. The event was attended by a 16-member Kyrgyz business delegation representing the textile, food, construction and agricultural sectors, as well as a total of 28 companies from Hungary.

 

The business forum was opened by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Sanshar Mukanbetov, Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. Following the opening speeches, Nuradil Baisov, Director General of IPPA and Ermek Omuraliev, Director of Economic Diplomacy at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave their presentations representing the Kyrgyz side. On the Hungarian side, dr. Kristóf Szabó, CEO of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, Gergely Jákli, President- CEO of EXIM Bank, Mária Tényiné Start, Director of the International Department of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Márton Szabó, Deputy CEO of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency introduced the activities and available services of their institutions.

 

Several agreements were signed within the framework of the forum, including the memorandum of understanding between HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency and the Kyrgyz Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, between the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as between the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The plenary session was followed by a B2B event, during which more than 80 B2B meetings were held between the participating Kyrgyz and Hungarian companies.
