Las Vegas hosted the world’s largest and most influential technology event, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) between January 6 and 9, 2026. CES is the leading professional exhibition in the technology sector, bringing together major brands, emerging startups, investors, as well as industry and government decision-makers. At the Hungarian national pavilion, coordinated by the HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), 13 prominent Hungarian companies showcased their innovative solutions to an international audience.

The scale and significance of the event were outstanding: nearly 150,000 visitors from around 160 countries attended this year to explore the latest developments from more than 4,100 exhibitors in fields such as artificial intelligence, digital health, energy efficiency, enterprise solutions, mobility, quantum technology, robotics and immersive entertainment.

Hungarian companies presented a diverse portfolio of innovations. Following the success of its agricultural drones, ABZ Innovation expanded its product range and arrived at CES with high-pressure building-cleaning drones.

Adaptive Recognition showcased license plate recognition and document authentication technologies that can also be applied in law enforcement and military contexts. ASURA Technologies enriched the exhibition with AI-based traffic monitoring and video analytics systems that contribute to improved safety on highways and in parking facilities.

Atlas Soft presented custom enterprise software solutions, while Uphome Smart Living+ introduced intelligent building automation and smart home technologies. These solutions allow residents to open gates, control lighting, raise shutters, and even call elevators using a single mobile application.

ProtectOne Global  presented ultrasonic tick, flea and dust mite repellent products that offer a chemical-free solution against parasites. Following its successful expansion across the European market, Walmart - the largest retail chain in the United States - listed the company’s product, marking a historic milestone as the first Hungarian product of its kind to achieve this recognition.

In the field of green infrastructure development, Continest represented sustainable innovation with its foldable modular container solutions, while Kuube showcased its solar-powered, self-sustaining smart benches. The latter also caught the attention of NASA, and the Hungarian company’s products will soon be installed at the Kennedy Space Center.

In the audiovisual market, Lightware presented professional signal transmission systems, including switches. Mindrove appeared with wearable sensors that measure muscle and brain activity, then use artificial intelligence to translate the data into gestures.

Tommy-Invest Electronic Llc. showcased industrial and automotive developments, while Voltie presented electric vehicle charging solutions. Voltie’s systems are designed not only for private users but also for residential buildings: up to 50 chargers can communicate with each other, enabling intelligent distribution of the available electrical capacity.

WaterScope introduced a smart fire hydrant that measures water network pressure every two minutes and transmits data to a server on an hourly basis, significantly reducing water loss caused by potential leaks or pipe bursts.

The Hungarian national pavilion attracted strong interest, providing an excellent opportunity for Hungarian companies to showcase their technological and industry expertise to a broad audience and to establish new business partnerships. While several companies concluded sales agreements on site, HEPA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the city of Busan, South Korea. At the same time, WaterScope also signed an MoU with a South Korean company, ToiCoS.

Hungary’s overall performance at CES 2026 goes far beyond the number of exhibited products or the visitor traffic at the stand. The showcased solutions clearly demonstrated that Hungarian innovation is not merely following global trends, but increasingly shaping them across multiple fields. This is particularly significant in relation to the United States, one of Hungary’s most important non-EU export markets. In 2024, the value of Hungarian exports to the U.S. approached USD 10 billion, 55-60% of which was generated in high value-added, technology-intensive sectors.
